76ers’ Mike Scott, Tyrese Maxey tested positive for COVID-19
Philadelphia 76ers forward Mike Scott and rookie guard Tyrese Maxey are not with the team at the start of training camp after testing positive for COVID-19.
Both players are waiting to clear COVID-19 protocols and are expected to join the team in the coming days, according to Derek Bodner of The Athletic and Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer.
A player who tests positive and remains asymptomatic can’t participate in workouts for 10 days.
After those 10 days, a player will have to work out individually for two days and pass a cardiac screening before resuming full-team workouts.
This means a player will miss up to 12 days if he tests positive.
Scott, 32, averaged 6.0 points and 3.6 rebounds per game in 68 games for the 76ers last season.
Maxey, who was drafted No. 21 overall in this year’s draft, averaged 14.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game in his lone season at Kentucky.
