Jimmy Butler says ‘nobody really cares’ about the Heat’s short offseason
Jimmy Butler made it clear he and the Miami Heat should be ready at the start of the 2020/21 season on December 22.
Butler noted that ‘nobody really cares’ about the 71 days of rest the Heat will have (the shortest offseason in American sports history).
“Nobody really cares [about the Heat’s short offseason]. I got a job to do so that’s what I got to be ready to do…nicked up or not. I think a lot of people are going to be that. Still [got to] go out there and compete,” Butler said, via Nick Friedell of ESPN.
Butler had an amazing season with Miami, averaging 19.9 points, 6.7 rebounds, six assists, and 1.8 steals. His numbers improved to 26.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, 9.8 assists, and 2.2 steals in the NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers, yet the Heat lost 4-2.
