Liverpool shot stopper Alisson Becker says that they are focused on the performance of the team and not the position they are in the premier league table as he believes that will give the team more concentration for the next match.

The Reds lead the League table before Christmas after overtaking  Tottenham to lead the way into Christmas for the third consecutive year with 31 points having won 9 out of their 14 topflight league game with just 1 defeat.

The Brazilian stated that he pleased with the satisfaction the Reds supporters will have in this situation but insists that priority should be place on the next league match rather than putting their focus on the standing as it will put more pressure on opponent that are fighting for the first position.

“It’s good, you put pressure on the opponents, the other teams who are there fighting for first place,” he told media, when asked about the impact of winning the lunchtime kick-off against Crystal Palace.

“But we are only thinking about ourselves, thinking about what we can do on the pitch. So, when you get three points with a great performance you will be happy.

“We have one week to rest now, to prepare the next game and the next challenge, and to enjoy a little bit Christmas with the family.

“I wish a merry Christmas for all the supporters; may God bless you. Enjoy it with the family safely, in a safe way. Merry Christmas – this is our gift for you!”
