Pep Guardiola says his players are yet to discover their goal scoring form and insisted he will judge things on game-by-game basis, he said this after Manchester City beat Arsenal 4-1 at the Emirate stadium in last night Carabao cup.

Manchester City have found it hard to score goals in previous games and the Citizen manager said putting four past his former right hand man side doesn’t mean that they have gotten their goal scoring form back.

Pep Guardiola side beat Arsenal in the quarter final in the Carabao cup as goals from Gabriel Jesus, Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden and Laporte gave them a massive win targeting a fourth final in a row.

“It is just one game, Pep said.

“We started well, they changed their system and after we struggled a little. In the second half we were much better.

“You have to be professional; you have to run a lot. The second goal was the goalkeeper situation, the third was maybe offside. These situations changed the game.

“I think we started well. After that they changed the set-up and we had more problems finding our spaces. They didn’t create much but we weren’t fluid.

“We changed it half time and put one more player in the position we needed and we were much better. We are in the semi-finals and that is important for us.”

When asked about the final being moved back to April, he added: “One step at a time, please. I don’t know where we will be in April.”

Manchester City welcome Newcastle United to the Etihad on December 26 before they also hit the road twice for matches against Everton and Chelsea.
