Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is hopeful that the club captain Aubameyang goal against Southampton will be a turning point, Aubameyang scored in the second half of the game to give his side a point in the premier league after skipper scored an own goal against Burley in the weekend.
After several month since Aubameyang have score a goal in an open play in the Premier League the skipper found the back of the net against Southampton and Arteta now believe he will score in every game.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang slotted in a well-taken equaliser as his side claimed a point against an in-form Southampton on Wednesday night after falling behind to a goal from former Arsenal player Theo Walcott.
Arteta believe things will get fall in place for the skipper soon.
“Hopefully it’s going to change everything dramatically and he’s going to score every game because this is what we need at the moment,” Mikel Arteta said.
Arteta stated further stated that they need to get more point in the Premier League and in other to do that they must utilize their chance and score more goal.
“We needed a win. We play to win, we’re really disappointed with the way that we conceded the first goal but then the team reacted. Instead of getting down, the team reacted, we kept trying with more efficiency.
“We created some really good situations in the first half but we didn’t finish the action well enough. We came back really strong in the second half, we scored a really good goal and we kept going. When we had a [good] moment again, we shot ourselves in the foot and made things really complicated for ourselves. He said.
“We need the points and in order to do that, we need to score many more goals and be more efficient when we have the chances. I think it’s going to make him really good.
Arteta’s men finished the game with 10 men after Gabriel was shown a red card in the second half of the game, the gunners manager hails the fighting spirit of his players after they played with a man down.
“At the end, if you lose the game again it would’ve been a really difficult one to take,” he said. “The players showed what we expect them to do. Sometimes with more or less quality, but at least the work is there.
“I saw all the players were participating and they were in the stands, shouting, being behind the team and leading the game with them. That’s a really strong signal as well and I’m really pleased with that as well.”
