Mikel Arteta has embraced the intense exchange between teammates Oleksandr Zinchenko and Ben White following their 2-1 win against Nottingham Forest.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed his satisfaction with the intense exchange between teammates Oleksandr Zinchenko and Ben White following the Gunners’ 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest on Tuesday.

The heated argument, which required intervention from coaching staff, unfolded as Arsenal narrowly held onto their two-goal lead at the City Ground.

Despite the late scare from substitute Taiwo Awoniyi’s 89th-minute goal, goals from Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka secured the crucial win, propelling Arsenal to second place in the Premier League.

Arteta commended the confrontation between Zinchenko and White, interpreting it as a sign of players demanding more from each other and addressing defensive lapses.

Arteta revealed that Gabriel Jesus played despite facing a knee issue caused by a prior kick. The striker’s determination to contribute to the team’s success impressed Arteta, who praised Jesus’s positive mindset and commitment to playing through the discomfort.

However, there are concerns about Jesus’s fitness for the upcoming match against Liverpool, as Arteta acknowledged uncertainty regarding his availability due to the significant impact on his knee in the previous game.

Despite the potential setback, Arteta remains optimistic about Jesus’s recovery, emphasizing the player’s positive attitude and sharpness in training.

The Arsenal manager appreciates the striker’s dedication and is hopeful that his resilience will continue to contribute to the team’s success.
