D’Angelo Russell on Anthony Edwards: “He wasn’t making shots and that’s an adjustment but he’s got some flavor to him”
Anthony Edwards made his debut in the Minnesota Timberwolves’ loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. The 1st overall pick showcased his aggressiveness, despite not making his shots.
D’Angelo Russell seemed pretty satisfied with the rookie’s presence in his NBA debut. After the game, Russell talked about what qualities stand out from Edward’s game.
“I like his game. He doesn’t force it. He’s trying to make the right play out there. He’s getting to his spots. He wasn’t making shots and that’s an adjustment but he’s got some flavor to him,” Russell noted, per Chris Hine of Star Tribune.
Edwards finished his first game with five points shooting 2-out-of-9 from the field. He had four rebounds, one assist, and three turnovers in 26 minutes.
