Eguavoen claims to do a better job if called upon again
Augustine Eguavoen believes on doing a better job if he is called upon to manage the Supr Eagles team again.
Former interim coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Augustine Eguavoen believes he will do a better job if he is called upon again for manage the team.
The former Super Eagles technical director replaced former manager Gernot Rohr as the coach before the AFCON tournament.
Eguavoen led the Super Eagles to the AFCON tournament in Cameroon just to crash out in the round of 16 of the tournament to Tunisia.
The former Super Eagles defender took charge of the two legs of the World cup qualifier against Black stars of Ghana but didn’t make after a 1-1 draw at the Abuja stadium.
Speaking during SuperSports’ program, Monday Night Football, Eguavoen said he would take the opportunity to coach the Super Eagles again if he is called upon in the near future.
“If there is still an opportunity for me, I will want to coach the Eagles again, but not at this moment, maybe later,” Eguavoen said.
“If I am called upon to lead the team again, I will definitely take up the job. I am still one of the good coaches in the country. I can still prove a point, it is just a matter of time.
“No regrets taking up the job. When you are called to serve the nation, I could not refuse them,” he added.
