Is Eguavoen the right man for Super Eagles?
Series of questions running through mind if Augustine Eguavoen Super Eagles were poor against Ghana in the World cup qualifier’s first leg, one question that stand is, Is Eguavoen the right man to lead the Super Eagles?
This question will be running through many Super Eagles supporters mind after a disappointing game against Ghana in the World Cup qualifier after Eguavoen team put up a bad performance.
Augustine Eguaveon was appointed as the interim manager for the Super Eagles after former manager Gernot Rohr was dismissed.
Eguavoen led the team to the just concluded African cup of Nations that was won by Senegal this year.
After an impressive start as the Super Eagles manager in the group stage of the AFCON with an unbeaten run then it looks like the team have found the Messiah.
It was not long enough before it was notice that Eguavoen appointment was just wrong after he suffer defeat in the hand of Tunisia to crash out of the Afcon tournament.
The former Super Eagles player was unable to meet the tactical level of the Tunisia team as he opted for individual performance.
Some fans believed the team suffer because of the costly mistake by Maduka Okoye at the goal post.
Many shouted that the red card received by Alex Iwobi was the cost of Super Eagles falling out of the AFCON tournament.
But no, it was the other way round as the manager lack the proper technical ability for his team.
The game against Ghana last night says it all that the tactical ability was not there as the team lack a particular style of play.
The team played without a good system despite having quality players to play any style of play.
It was a shameful performance from the Super Eagles led by Augustine Eguavoen.
The truth is I still find it hard to believe what will be the fate of the Eagles under Eguavoen at the World cup if at all they qualify.
Will they continue this awful performance at Qatar if they qualify or willthey find a proper style of play.
As of now I believe Augustine Eguavoen is now the right man for the Eagles it just a frying pan to fire for the Eagles.
