James Harden practices with Rockets; set to make preseason debut
Houston Rockets star James Harden took part in the team’s light workout and will play in the next preseason game on Dec. 15 against the San Antonio Spurs.
“We’ll figure out the minutes tomorrow,” head coach Stephen Silas said, regarding Harden’s return to action.
Silas also mentioned that P.J. Tucker returned to practice for the Rockets and both Tucker and Harden were “very good.”
Silas added that he and Harden had a good conversation.
“You can ask him about his commitment and all that sort of thing. But we had a good conversation,” Silas said. “He was locked in. He was asking good questions. He was bringing up good points. We had a good discussion. We talked basketball. I’m a basketball coach, and he’s a basketball player. We talked hoop today. As far as his commitment to what we’re doing basketball-wise, he was right there. As far as the rumors … that’s another question you’ll have to ask of him.”
Harden is still reportedly pushing for a trade despite the arrival of John Wall, but the situation surrounding Harden remains fluid, even with him finally back with the team.
