Lakers GM Rob Pelinka’s offseason strategy was to make the roster younger and faster

The Los Angeles Lakers made some surprising and impressive moves in the offseasons free agency market, and general manager Rob Pelinka explained his argumentation for such decisions.

Rob Pelinka talked to journalists ahead of the Lakers’ first workout on Friday, verifying that that was his exact reasoning when getting Schröder and Harrell to the organization (per Harrison Faigen/Silver Screen & Roll).

Pelinka notes that the Lakers got younger players and much faster ones as 27-years-old Dennis Schröder and 26-years-old Montrezl Harrell are direct replacements for 34-year-olds Rajon Rondo and Dwight Howard.

The pair signings not only raised the Lakers’ offense but further gave them two fresh and skilled basketball players in their control opportunity to build a dynasty team.
