Maguire urge to leave Manchester United

Harry Maguire has been told to leave Manchester United as soon as possible because he clearly isn’t one of Erik ten Hag’s top two centre-backs.

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has been advised to leave the club after it felt like he is not in the plan of manager Erik Ten Hag.

The defender has been dropped by the Duth man following series of errors from him at the beginning of the season.

Ten Hag brought in Lisandro Martinez from Ajax this season and the Argentine has been the number on the list at centre back along side Raphael Varane.

Former Manchester united defender Rio Ferdinand has urged the centre back to move away from the club has he is not in the plan of the former Ajax manager.

The England international starred at the World Cup for the Three Lions, but Luke Shaw has started over him at centre-back in Man United’s first two league games since the mid-season break, and Rio Ferdinand believes Maguire should leave.

Speaking to BT Sport, he said: “If I’m Harry Maguire, I’m looking for a new club right now.

“This new manager is showing him he’s not going to be one of the top two centre-backs.

“I’d be telling my agent to go and find me a club where I can play regularly.”

In the absence of Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof Ten Hag chose to start Luke Shaw at centre back position in their last 2 games.

Maguire had been previously linked with a transfer to Chelsea with his future uncertain at Old Trafford, and despite a successful campaign with England in Qatar, he seems to still be out of favour in the eyes of Ten Hag.

Defensive problems have plagued Graham Potter throughout much of his time at Stamford Bridge, and although a move for Maguire would likely be scrutinised, it could be exactly what the Blues need to stabilise their defence.
