Manchester United manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer says he will carefully select his team that ahead of the busy schedule in the Premier League and that he will not take any risk with the fitness of his players as Edinson Cavani continue with his rehab and Anthony Martial just coming back from injury after he featured in the second half of the weekends derby game.

With a busy festive period in the Premier League, Ole has stated that he will not be taking any risk as he will be facing Sheffield United a side that is struggling in the league.

“Of course, we’re going into a very, very tight schedule now with six games in less than 16 days,” he added in his interview with club media. “We know we can’t take any risks if there are any niggles. There are a couple of little things that we’re waiting for, to see how they react, before we pick the squad.”

Edinson Cavani has been training with first team after he was injured recently but still not certain he will be ready for selection time soon.

“Edinson has done well in his rehab, but we’re still going to make a decision on whether we should risk him,” explained Ole at his press conference. “Because it is a risk, it’s a little bit too early. I doubt he’ll be available for me to pick him tomorrow.

Anthony Martial who came off the bench against Manchester City, following his injury crisis but yet there is news on a fresh injury within Solskjaer squad.

The Norwegian revealed that Marcos Rojo will be out until the new year, along with fellow central defender Phil Jones.

“Marcos has just felt a niggle in his calf again. He’s worked really hard to come back, he played a game with the Reserves and got a knock there. Worked really hard again, then felt something. He’s hopefully back in January, Marcos. Phil [Jones] should be ready by January and Sergio [Romero] has been training hard as well.”

The Reds will be taking a trip to Sheffield United on Thursday as Ole seek to secure 3 points to close the gap in the Premier League table after Chelsea and Manchester City dropped point last night, while Liverpool and Tottenham are yet to play.
