Norway head coach Stale Solbakken says Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard remains a doubt for the upcoming clash with Turkey in the international duty after he picked up an injury in Wednesday’s win over Gibraltar.

Odegaard, who is in top form for his club side Arsenal was withdrawn at half time against Gibraltar after it appeared to have twist is ankle and attempted to play but fail to continue.

Solbakken claims after the game that Odegaard’s injury was nothing serious, though the Arsenal star didn’t participate in the Thursday training session.

Solbakken is hopeful the midfielder will be involved in Saturday clash with Turkey.

“I have not actually talked to Martin about it,’ the Norway boss told the media at a press conference on Thursday following the session.

“He’s had his recovery with his uncle [Norway team physiotherapist Thomas Odegaard], so I don’t have the latest news.

“No decision will be made on that before match day, so we have to wait and see how it develops.

“We hope he will be able to play [against Turkey], but it is a short time in between.”

Meanwhile Arsenal will be playing Premier league holder Liverpool on Saturday April at the Emirate stadium and will expect the in-form player back fit for the game.
