Super Eagles goal keeper Maduka Okoye has stated that they need to avoid distraction as they prepare to play Sudan in the African Nations Cup.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria won their first game of the competition against Egypt after Kelechi Iheanacho’s goal crowned their dominate effort.

Speaking ahead of the game against Sudan Okoye stated that he is looking forward to get another three points against the Sudan team.

“First of all, i’m looking forward to three points and then clean sheet is always good. It’s a sign good defending and competitive team, yes we will be good,”Okoye told NFF TV ahead of the game.

“It was good performance against Egypt. I think we compete well, it was a collective performance. We need to stick to this level and we can beat anybody.

“We have set a high bar and we need to stick to it. We need to keep working hard and avoid distraction.”

Meanwhile, Sudan played a 0-0 draw against Guniea-Bissau in their first match of the tournament.

Sudan’s star forward Yasin Hamed said they are not scared of Super Eagles as he believes they have a good team that can compete in the competition.

“We know people expect us to lose because of the players of Nigeria and the win over Egypt but we are not scared. We have a good team and we are a great family.”

A win for the Eagles will guarantee their place in the first knockout round.
