Indiana Pacers rallied to secure a thrilling victory over the Phoenix Suns, overshadowing Devin Booker’s phenomenal 62-point performance. Obi Toppin’s late-game heroics sealed the Pacers’ triumph, disrupting the Suns’ seven-game winning streak in a memorable showdown.

In a thrilling showdown on Friday night, the Indiana Pacers mounted an impressive comeback to stun the Phoenix Suns with a 133-131 victory.

Despite Devin Booker’s early scoring spree, the Pacers orchestrated a late-game resurgence, sealing the win with an impactful putback by Obi Toppin in the closing moments.

Toppin, finishing the game with 23 points and 11 rebounds, acknowledged Booker’s greatness but highlighted the pivotal fourth quarter adjustment made by the Pacers.

Employing a strategy to double-team and pressure Booker, they effectively limited the Suns to a mere 17 points in the final quarter, disrupting their offensive rhythm.

Booker, who set a Phoenix record with 29 points in the first quarter, ultimately fell short of securing the win for the Suns.

Even with a chance to clinch victory at the buzzer, he slipped on the inbounds pass and missed a contested 3-pointer. This defeat marked the end of the Suns’ seven-game winning streak.

Notably, Booker’s impressive 62-point performance became historical, as he joined the ranks of Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan as one of the few players to record multiple 60-point games in a loss.

The Suns extended their franchise record for consecutive games with 40-point scorers to five, with Kevin Durant contributing 20 points in the match.

For the Pacers, the victory was part of a remarkable 24-hour stretch, securing wins against both the Philadelphia 76ers and the formidable Phoenix Suns. Pascal Siakam played a pivotal role, scoring 31 points in the absence of injured All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton.

The game showcased the Pacers’ resilience as they overcame a significant second-quarter deficit to gradually close in on the Suns.

Andrew Nembhard’s contributions, with 22 points and six assists, played a crucial role in the team’s comeback. The physical and defensively challenging encounter culminated in Toppin’s decisive putback, securing a memorable win for the Indiana Pacers.
