Real Madrid ends Zenit’s six-game road winning streak – EuroLeague Round 13: Results and Highlights
Real Madrid defeated Zenit Saint Petesburg at home (79-72) and put an end to the Russians’ six-game road winning streak.
A 20-3 run early in the third quarter was enough for the “Whites” to take a double-digit lead (56-34) and never look back. The visitors never came closer than seven points and suffered their first road loss this season.
Real remained undefeated at home (6-0) and improved to 8-5, whereas Zenit dropped to 7-4.
In the other matches, Olympiacos (7-5) survived a late thriller against Crvena Zvezda (4-9) in Belgrade, thanks to Giorgos Printezis’ game-winning two-pointer (79-81).
For its part, Maccabi Tel-Aviv (5-8) escaped from Vitoria with a big win over Baskonia (6-6), with Tyler Dorsey (15 points) sealing the deal from the free-throw line (63-67). The Israelis ended the Basques’ four-game winning streak.
In Valencia, Klemen Prepelic hit the game-winner at the buzzer and the hosts (8-5) edged Anadolu Efes (7-6) (76-74). Also, ALBA Berlin (5-7) decimated Fenerbahce (5-8) and earned its third straight win (89-63).
