This week Ronaldo took another headline in the sports world after Manchester United parted ways with the Portuguese star following his interview with Piers Morgan.

Cristiano Ronaldo said it feels like ‘the right time for a new challenge’ after his contract with Manchester United was terminated.

United’s statement said the decision was mutually agreed with the player, whose reported £500,000-a-week contract still had six months to run, but it is understood there has been no pay-off and there are no ongoing obligations for the club.

The Portuguese star, who is on duty with the Portugal at World cup has told journalist to stop asking his teammate questions about him.

He added that he do not regret the timing of his interview.

“Timing is always timing,” Ronaldo said at a news conference at the Al Shahaniya Sports Club. “From your side it is easy to look at how we can choose timings. Sometimes you write truths, sometimes you write lies. I don’t have to worry what others think. I talk when I want to. Everybody knows who I am, what I believe in.”

Few hours after Manchester United parted ways with Cristiano Ronaldo the Glazer family have put up the club for sale.

The American investors have demand a recod price for the Old Trafford club.

Co-chairman Avram Glazer told Sky News on Wednesday: “As we announced, the board went through a process and it was decided it’s going to look at different strategic alternatives and that’s what we’re doing.

“We’ve gone through a process, we’re going to look at all different strategic alternatives and we’ll see where it leads us.”

Meanwhile, in Manchester City Pep Guardiola has extended his contract with the Etihad club on 2 year contract.

The former Barcelona manager has won nine major trophies, including four Premier League titles, since taking charge at City in 2016.

Guardiola said: “I am so pleased to be staying at Manchester City for another two years.
