Christian Eriksen on Newcastle United radar
Newcastle United is reportedly growing interest in Christian Eriksen following is effective impact at his new club.
Brentford midfielder Christian Eriksen is eyed by Newcastle United as they are hopeful he could join them in this summer.
Eriksen returned to first team football this year following his incident of collapsing at the Euro 2020 and signed a short-term deal with Brentford in January.
The former Inter Milan player has then been effective for the Premier League side having victory in each of the four matches he has stated in.
The impact of the 30-years-old player has then turn number of teams to be interested in the Denmark international.
And according to the Northern Echo, there is growing optimism at St James’ Park that Eriksen could be their ‘flagship’ arrival this summer.
The former Inter and Tottenham midfielder has also been linked with a move to Manchester United, as well as a return to north London.
But Brentford boss Thomas Frank is still hopeful of convincing him to stay on with the club.
“The thing is that I don’t think anything will be decided before the end of the season. We are interested for him to stay, massively – I would love that,’ he said before his side’s victory over West Ham last Sunday.
“When or when not that is confirmed, that’s where we can say something. I could say we’re speaking every week or we’re not speaking every week but it’s actually irrelevant.
“I think you all understand we would like to keep him and it’s up to Christian to find out what he wants to do.
“I think we have a chance (of keeping him) – 100 per cent.”
