Sportscliffs: Strikers that could replace Lacazette at Arsenal
With the departure of Arsenal striker Alexander Lacazette Sportscliffs have come up with list of strikers that could replace the French man.
Arsenal striker Alexander Lacazette is out of contract at the Emirates Stadium and will now leave after five seasons with the north London club.
He posted on Twitter: “Once a gunner, Always a Gunner.”
Now a free agent, it is understood that Lacazette is on his way back to his homeland with former club Lyon.
Following the departure of the French striker at the club Sportscliffs have come up with strikers that could Arsenal can look into to replace Lacazette at the club.
1.Victor Osimhen
The Nigerian striker has been incredible for Italian side Napoli and he could be a good replacement for the French striker if the Gunners can price him out of the club.
The 23-year-old scored 18 goals in 32 games last season.
- Gabriel Jesus
With the arrival of Erling Haaland and Julian Alverez at Manchester City the Brazilian seems to be looking for a way to secure a move out of the Etihad club especially when the World cup is around the corner.
- Lautaro Martinez
The Inter striker has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, as well as a reunion with Antonio Conte at Tottenham.
However, it would appear he wants to stay with Inter, where he won Serie A with Conte in 2020-21.
Arsenal would need to put forward a substantial bid, therefore, to prise the Argentine away.
- Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Calvert-Lewin’s representatives are understood to be assessing his options, while Everton need to raise funds to support Frank Lampard’s summer rebuild.
Everton would only entertain offers which they believe reflect their valuation of Calvert-Lewin, whom they place in the bracket below Harry Kane, valued at more than £100m last summer.
- Tammy Abraham
The England international joined Roma for £34m last summer and went on to score 27 goals across all competitions as the club finished sixth in Serie A and won the inaugural Europa Conference League.
Abraham revealed Arsenal wanted to sign him last summer, but he was convinced by Jose Mourinho to join him at Roma instead.
