Sportscliffs: Failed moves as manager in English League
There are managers that have failed moving from one club to another in the Premier League and Sportscliffs have come up with managers that have failed in that area.
Football club manager is the someone who manage a football club or a national team. They have the responsibilities selecting the team, choosing the tactics, recruiting and transferring players, negotiating player contracts, and speaking to the media.
Like we all know that managers have lots of work to do and failure of a particular team will be traced back to the manager.
There lots of managers that have been sacked in club and even in the national team because of the poor performance of the team.
This article is about failed moves as manager in English League and the team they manage at that time.
Paul Ince– Blackburn
Paul Ince was a great player in his day, he is one among lots of ex-players that move from the pitch to managing a team.
Initially, great periods at both Macclesfield Town and then MK Dons saw Blackburn Rovers pick him up to manage the club in the top flight.
However, it was a short period for the manager as his negative winning percentage saw him shipped out after only 21 matches.
David Moyes- Manchester United
David Moyes was one of the best managers in England when he was at Everton and is proving to be so at his current club West Ham United.
But the manager had a very bad stint when he moved from Everton to Manchester United when Sir Alex Ferguson retired.
Despite his knowledge in football David Moyes was unable to make impact at the club as he only won the community shield for the club.
Ander Villas-Boas
Andre Villas-Boas was a successful manager when he was at FC Porto, where he made a massive run for a season.
Then the Portuguese made a move to the English Premier League team Chelsea where he failed and was later sacked by the then owner Roman Abramovic.
His failure at Chelsea only proves he was not ready to return to a club of players that saw him as a coach.
Unai Emery- Arsenal
The Current coach of Villareal didn’t achieve anything when he was the manager of Arsenal back then.
He has a good credential before he moved to Arsenal as he has won several trophies with former clubs.
He further won the Europa League with Villarreal after he left the Gunners defeating Manchester United in the shootout game.
Ralf Rangnick- Manchester United
The German was brought in by Manchester United board to replace Ole Gunner Solskjaer on an interim basis.
The fans expect so much from the godfather of gengen-pressing but his tactics failed him at Manchester United.
