Giannis Antetokounmpo on signing a max contract extension with the Bucks: “Right now, I’m not focused on that. I’m just trying to focus on myself”

Giannis Antetokounmpo opened up about whether or not he will sign his supermax contract extension with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Antetokounmpo said this is a ‘very big decision’, but he is not focused on that right now.

“Right now, I am not focused on that. I am just trying to focus on myself. I’m not going to lie to you, I’m not the type of player that talks to his agent five times a week.

Obviously, I care about it. It’s a very big decision. One of the biggest decisions I’m going to make,” Antetokounmpo told reporters, via Malika Andrews of ESPN and Eric Nehm of The Athletic.

Antetokounmpo is eligible for a five-year, supermax contract extension with the Bucks, worth $228M – $240M. If he declines it, he will be a free agent in 2021.
