Ancelotti:“We are not the top team but we are a solid team.”
Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti says his side is a solid team after the late win against Sheffield United last night.
Everton beat Sheffield United in the premier league to move second on the league table after late goal from Gylfi Sigurdsson gave them a vital win.
“I am really satisfied, it was not an easy game,” Ancelotti said.
“But we were focused defensively, as usual in the past period, we were really solid at the back and didn’t concede opportunities.”
“We knew we wouldn’t have a lot of opportunities to score but when we found the right solution at the end, we won.”
“We are second in the table for the spirit of this team, the motivation and ambition the players have for this season.”
“We are not the top team but we are a solid team.”
“This, in my opinion, is a really good quality for a team.”
“The ambition and target is the same [as previously] for the season: to reach a position in Europe.”
“Sheffield United is a good team, they play with a lot of intensity and have fighting spirit.”
“We knew before, we needed to be patient and not give them the opportunity to be in the game.”
“We were able to do this.”
Everton will meet Manchester city in the midweek as they will seek to maintain their position on the league table.
