Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has stated that they need full concentration against Alcoyano in the Copa del Rey.

The La Liga League leader lost to Getafe in their last match in the League and will now need to shift focus on the cup game.

Speaking ahead of the game Ancelotti stated that he has his full confidence on the players and that they are taking the game serious.

“I’ve got a lot of confidence in this team and they’re motivated to play in this match. We’re taking it seriously and that’s the only way to approach it if we want to reach the final of the competition.

He further stated that they need to respect their opponent and know their strength as he insists on playing the best team in the game.

“We have to respect our opponents and know the problems that they could cause us. I’m going to play the best possible team. I’ve not seen the game last year against Alcoyano. I know what happened because the players have told me about it. It’s an open wound because it came at a difficult time of the season. They know what happened and what can’t happen tomorrow”.

Ancelotti claims that their objective is to win the competition and insists they need to be at their best.

“The objective is to win the competition and it’s going to be a game in which we must be at our best. Not only in terms of quality, in which on paper we’re stronger.

He added that he will give minutes to some other players as some of his players struggled in the defeat to Getafe.

“It’s also going to require concentration, winning duels and being focused at set pieces. We want to go out and demonstrate that tomorrow. We’ve got players who’ve been struggling after the Getafe game, such as Benzema, Mendy and Modrić. I want to give Lunin minutes and that’s why Courtois won’t be there either”.
