Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is out of Manchester united clash at the Emirate stadium today due to some personal issue.

While speaking to the media the Gunner’s head coach Mikel Arteta was not sure if the Gabonese will be included in the squad to face United but the club have confirmed that their striker will miss out.

The former Dortmund player also withdrew from past league cup and premier league matches against Southampton.

In a short statement on his club official website, Arsenal said: “Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will be unavailable for Saturday’s match due to personal family reasons.”

Aubameyang confirmed his mother was in ill health after missing games against Southampton in a 1-0 loss in the FA Cup and 3-1 win in the Premier League.

He stated on Wednesday that he would be back home that evening, but doubts emerged about his availability after he left.

It was not clear whether he had left the country, which would have required a period of quarantine due to coronavirus restrictions, and he would also need to produce a negative Covid-19 test.

Arsenal began the weekend round of Premier League fixtures in ninth in the table, 10 points behind the Red Devils and 11 adrift of leaders Manchester City.
