Everton boss Rafeal Benitez has vowed to create a competitive Everton side as the league is coming to a start.
The former Liverpool manager signed for the Merseyside team after the departure of Carlo Ancelotti.
Benitez who is known for his tactics have vow to shape a new Everton side that can fight for trophy like he has done with Liverpool.
“We have to create a team that will be competitive” Benitez said, “that fights for the shirt from the first minute until the last and doesn’t give up,” he said.
“It doesn’t matter the name of the other team. We will try to win.
“We will try to play good football and we know the fans want to see the team playing well – but winning. We will try to do that.
The manager further explain that he fully understands the tradition and ambition of the club.
He stated that he wants to compete and fight for his team as it’s a new challenge for him.
“I know about the Club, the tradition and its history, the ambition of the owners and the fanbase.
“I want to compete. It is a great opportunity and a challenge for me.
The former Newcastle boss stated that he will fight for his team like he has done with every other teams he has worked for.
The Spaniard said that they will take every game one by one and also go far in each cup competition they find them self.
“We want to be pushing and pushing, trying to get three points in every game and going as far as we can in the cup competitions.
He stated that he is aware of how the team finished the league the previous. “We will try to do better. But, as people say, it is not about talking the talk, it is about walking the walk. I prefer to do this.”
