Champions League: The Old Lady visit Paris

0 31

Juventus will visit Paris to play Paris Saint Germain in a competitive match for the first time in 25 years and this are fact you should know.

This is not a movie, neither is it a Novel but a clash between two big teams in Europe Paris Saint Germain and Juventus.

The clash if the titans is a must watch game for every football fan in the world as but teams will be kicking off their Champions League campaign.

Following their dominance in the Ligue 1 the French club wants to add a Champions League into their cabinet.

It has not been easy for the team despite having some of the top players in the squad they still failed to deliver the trophy.

Fact you should know about the teams

Juventus have played Paris Saint Germain a total of eight times in all UEFA competitions, the most recent being in February 1997, when Juventus were 3-1 winners to complete a 9-2 aggregate win in the two-legged UEFA Super Cup – that win in Palermo made it six out of six against the French club for the Bianconeri, who also beat PSG 3-1 on aggregate in the 1992/93 UEFA Cup semi-finals.

This is PSG’s 15th UEFA Champions League group campaign, their 11th in succession – one short of national rivals Lyon’s unbroken run of appearances from 2000/01 to 2011/12, and have reached the knockout rounds in all of their last ten seasons in the competition, last failing to progress beyond the group stage in 2004/05.

Paris Saint Germain have won 42 and lost only six of their last 65 European home games, although four of those have come in their last 15 matches at the Parc des Princes.

The current Juventus squad contains four former PSG players but with injury ruling out Angel Di Maria’s participation only three, Leandro Paredes, Moise Kean and Adrien Rabiot have travelled to Paris.

The French club got into the Champions League final in 2020 against Bayern Munich but lost to the German club.

PSG tried their best to get into the Champions League final last season but a comeback from Real Madrid hindered their progress.

Meanwhile, Juventus will visit the French club in Paris as they kick start their Champions League campaign.

The Old lady on the other hand will want to build their confidence in the Champions League after their disappointment last season to Villarreal.

Juventus last got in the Champions League final in 2017 against Real Madrid and they suffered heavily in Cardiff.

These two teams have not met in the Champions League before and they have only met in the European super cup which was a long time ago.

The Parisians and the Old lady are unbeaten in their leagues but with the French club have a better record in league with 5 wins and a draw.

Which team will bow for each other as they will both start their Champions League campaign?
