France head coach Didier Deschamps stated while talking to the media about Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, Benzema has not played a game in France shirt after the Valbuena blackmail scandal.
Benzema spoke about the situation stating that the Deschamps had added to the pressure of the racism from a part of the French society.

The French team coach further explained what he thought after he learnt what Karim Benzema said.
“It left a mark. Even if you can forget it a little when time passes, I can’t. It’s not only about Karim Benzema, we’re also talking about quotes from other people who took it very far, affecting my family,” Deschamps said.
“We can talk about these issues when it involves a decision by the coach because of tactics or skills, it’s normal and it doesn’t matter.
“But here, they crossed the line, it affected my name and my family and for me this was unacceptable. We can’t forget, I can’t forget and I never will,”
It has been more than five years since Benzema last played for the French national team with Deschamps having players like Anthony Martial, Giroud and Griezmann in the striking position.
It is now clear that Benzema might not feature for the national team anymore as he continues to focus on his career in Real Madrid.
