Unai Emery admits difficult test against Liverpool but believes they will fight to be in the Champions League final.

Villarreal boss Unai Emery has stated that they will fight in order to get into the final of the Champions League.

The Spanish team lost 2-0 to Liverpool in the first leg of the Champions League tie at Anfield.

The Yellow submarine will host the Reds in the Champions League return leg and the Emery has stated that they will fight to get into the final of the tournament.

“Getting back from 2-0 is very difficult. We are working to play a good game, find answers in our game and try to get closer to them on the scoreboard. In Liverpool, the field factor was crucial and we would like it to be decisive here as well”.

“We want to achieve it and we are going to fight. They were superior in the first leg and have the result in their favour, but we are going to work to try to win at home, give our fans a joy”.

“We must find excellence in our game. We have to do something that nobody has achieved this year: beat Liverpool by more than two goals. We must find more weaknesses than other teams have managed. It will be difficult, but we are working and we will try to achieve it”.

Meanwhile, Villarreal defender Pau Torres believe it will be a tough game and says they know what is at stake against Liverpool.

He added that they know what they need to do at home to get the job done as they have a game plan for ahead of the game.

“We are aware of what is at stake. We are preparing well for the second leg. At home we have played great games. We know the work we have to do, we have a game plan and we have the support of our fans.

“We want it to be a long game and from there we can do our job. Getting ahead on the scoreboard would put us squarely in the tie. We have to be calm and follow our game plan.

“They were favourites, clear contenders for the title and we managed to subdue them and win the game at home. That’s what we want to do against Liverpool.”
