Lampard happy with improved performance against Aston Villa.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard says he is pleased with the performance of his players against an in-form Villa side despite sharing point at Stamford bridge last night.
The Blues were beaten by a struggling Arsenal side in the weekend before the match against Aston Villa in the Premier League and Lampard stated that he is happy with the sign of improvement from is much-changed side.
The English man didn’t hold back by saying he was not pleased with the fact that his team could not get the second goal and that they also conceded a goal but was also pleased with players that came in.
“It’s a draw, against a good team, and the performance was good,’ said Lampard. ‘I thought we deserved to win the game. We came through a difficult patch knowing that we want to improve. We saw a lot of signs today in the attitude of the team, coming to play, without having the final bit in the final third.”
“It leaves us having to do more because the table’s still tight. We’ve had a funny patch; we’ve remained really close to the top of the league. Off the back of a really good run we’ve had a difficult little time and today I saw some really good signs that I liked.”
“I wasn’t displeased with anything tonight other than the fact that we conceded that goal, and we didn’t really concede many chances in the game, and we didn’t score another goal which would have given us some comfort. But I was pleased with the players who came in, I was pleased with the attitude.”
Chelsea fail to move into the top four position in the Premier League after they shared point with Villa and they remain Sixth on the League table.
