Chelsea and Tottenham will clash at Stamford bridge in the Premier League and as the quest for the top for continues for the Spurs.
Both teams have played in the Carabao cup semifinal recently and Thomas Tuchel side knocked out Antonio Conte’s team, dominating both legs of the tournament.
What the managers have said so far ahead of the game.
Thomas Tuchel spoke about the busy schedule of the league and how it has affected the team.
“There is some proof that the schedule that we had in particular was a bit too much,’ he admitted. ‘At the same time, we have struggled with injuries; at first in midfield, then in the second period it was all strikers and now it’s suddenly all defenders that are out.
“It’s a bit awkward to deal with and we struggled with it. We struggled to find the same rhythm and consistency in our results, that’s proven, but still the way we played the games and the way we approached them was always okay.”
Antonio Conte on the other hand stated that: “Our last result showed, in football, you have to believe, always,” said Antonio, speaking to us after training on Friday and referring to Wednesday night’s thrilling 3-2 win at Leicester City.
“At the same time, you have to show desire, will, resilience and a will to work. Belief is not enough, you have to match belief with your desire, your work and your will to improve. If we do this, belief will improve game by game.”
Antonio added: “We have to know there are 19 games to go in this league and we have to be prepared for every game and to play with great intensity, with courage, to be brave, to try to play and get three points in every game. Then you know that the level in this league is very high. But, at the same time, we are trying to improve game by game.”
“We have to know very well that we are playing against a really strong team,” said Antonio. “Don’t forget, Chelsea won the Champions League last season and, in the last two games, they have beaten us.
“We want to go and try to play our game, and, after these (last) two games, to learn something more and to be more prepared to play against Chelsea. We know they are an important team, and they are good, but we want to play well and get the best possible result.”
With their last two recent outing Chelsea looks like a strong team and is likely to win the game against Spurs.
