Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that the Blues duo Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner will miss Norwich game on Saturday.
The forwards sustained injury in the 4-0 victory against Malmo in the Champions League.
It was reported the problem would see Lukaku missed Saturday’s Premier League clash with Norwich, but Tuchel has now revealed he will also be missing for next week’s Carabao Cup fourth round tie against Southampton, too.
“There’s no big news,” Tuchel said of the attacking duo’s fitness.
“They will be out of Southampton too but from there we will see. They are both having treatment and feeling positive.”
On Lukaku, the manager added: “His body didn’t demand a break. It was not a muscle injury so I don’t understand that. It is just some percentage, please don’t underestimate the effort these players go through.
“We want him to be the top dog at Chelsea and at some point, you get tired. If you turn the wheel and turn the wheel and turn the wheel then you get tired.
“There is no major problem. Sometimes speaking about it helps.”
