Erik Ten Hag has back Manchester United in form striker Marcus Rashford to continue with his goal-scoring form as the England international is focused on winning silverware.

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has been backed by his manager Erik Ten Hag to score more goals for the Reds.

The England international was on target once again in the FA cup game against Everton after giving an assist to Antony and also forcing Everton to score an own goal.

Rashford has been looking sharp this season and has the same goal involvement now than he had in the entire last season.

Speaking about Rashford after United FA cup victory Ten Hag said: “It is himself [the reason why he is flourishing this season]. He has the skills, I am supporting him, I am motivating him, that is clear.”

Marcus Rashford has been useful for the Reds across the whole frontline and the former Ajax manager believes he can also be used as a tactical weapon.

“I think I put him on the right position on the pitch, but to be fair he can play across the whole front line and in some cases behind. We can use him also as a tactical weapon, and he is scoring from every position. If he keeps this focus, I am convinced he will score even more goals. If he keeps investing in training, investing in the games, I’m sure – I’m convinced – he can keep the goals coming in this run.”

Rashford, after the game stated that the silverware is the main focus and hope they can get one this season.

“Yeah, that’s the aim,” Rashford told ITV Sport after the game. “That’s why we do what we do and why we work so hard.

“We want to be in finals, we want to be in the biggest games, and ultimately, we want to win silverware and trophies, so hopefully this season, we get the opportunity to do that.

“Obviously, it’s always nice to go through in cup games and the FA Cup is definitely a special competition to play in.”
