Pogba ruled out of season due to injury
Paul Pogba has been ruled out for Manchester United remaining Premier League fixtures this season due to injury.
Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has been ruled out of the season due to an injury he sustained against Liverpool.
The French midfielder was withdrawn in the early stage of their defeat against Liverpool and was replaced by Jesse Lingard.
Scans have revealed that the former Juventus player will be out for a month and since there 5 more games to go in the Premier League it means he will not be involved in any of the game.
“With Paul, it seems, after the scan we did yesterday or the day before yesterday, it’s very unlikely that he will play until the end of the season again,” Rangnick said in his pre-match press conference, before the game at Arsenal on Saturday.
“The doctor told me that it will take four weeks, minimum, for him to recover and, since the last game is at the end of May, I don’t think it’s very likely that he will be able to play again.”
Pogba has made 27 appearances this term for United, and a further seven for France, and has scored once for the Reds in 2021/22 – a belter in the 1-1 draw at Burnley, in February.
He has registered an impressive nine assists in 20 Premier League outings since August.
The 29-year-old’s current contract at Old Trafford is due to expire in the summer.
