Qatari to make second official bid for United
Qatari Businessman Sheikh Jassim is set to make a second bid in order to purchase Manchester United.
Sheikh Jassim of Qatar is set to make a second indicative bid to buy Manchester United ahead of tomorrow [Wednesday] night’s 9pm deadline.
The Qatari businessman representative were at Old Trafford and the club’s Carrington training ground last Thursday to hold more talks and receive further information to help them conduct their due diligence – with their visit lasting up to ten hours.
They were described as ‘positive and constructive’ by sources close to Sheikh Jassim and they are confident they will win the bid to purchase the Premier League giants, and their takeover will be best for the club, the fans and city of Manchester as a whole.
They are competing with British billionaire Jiff Ratcliffe, but the INEOS chief has said he will not pay ‘stupid’ money to buy the Red Devils, whereas the Qataris are open to splashing more cash to ensure their bid is successful.
The Glazer family who currently own it are reported to value at £6billion.
Ratcliffe recently told the Wall Street Journal: “How do you decide the price of a painting? How do you decide the price of a house? It’s not related to how much it cost to build or how much it cost to paint.
“What you don’t want to do is pay stupid prices for things because then you regret it subsequently.”
