Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford says he knew the goals would come and he was never worried about it, he stated this after the 9-0 victory over the Saint on Tuesday.

The Reds have been a little shaky in front of goal after outing at Arsenal and Sheffield United but the England international claim he knew they will definitely find their goal scoring form.

“I think if we’re not in positions to score goals, that’s a problem but, throughout the games where we’ve not scored the goals, we’ve always had chances,” Rashford told media, after the big win.

“We’ve been unfortunate with some, some we should have scored, some keepers have made some top saves, but I think, as a forward, you can sort of accept that.

“You can accept missing chances, of course you have to improve and do better, but the thing you can’t accept is not being in the areas to score the goals.

“As long as we keep doing that, we’re giving ourselves the best chance of scoring goals and winning games. For me, for the forwards that’s what it’s about.”

Rashford further stated that it has been in the clubs DNA to score goals and he said they should keep up with this kind of performance.

“I think, for Man United, we just go out there and try to win games, that’s always the way it has been and I remember, when I was younger watching games here, it was always exciting games, scoring four, five, six goals,” said Rashford.

“I think whenever we can, we want to put them types of results together and go out and really finish teams off and today was a perfect example of that.”

“Hopefully it can push us all in the right direction for the rest of the season now,” said the 23-year-old.

“We’ve dropped a few points in the last few league games so yeah, we needed a night like this really, just to get us going again.

“We can’t really ask for much more than today so we need to use this performance and the result today as motivation really, and something to mirror in the next few games. If we do that, we’ll pick up three points.”
