Review: Sport actions throughout last week

Sportscliffs have brought to you in one piece all the actions that happened in the world of sport last week.

Just like we do every week, brining you all the actions of the week in sport world, here are some of the stories you might have missed.

So much drama happened in the football world, while the NBA season will kick start in few days following their conclusion of their preseason.


In the Premier League Chelsea maintain their perfect start under new manager Graham Potter winning 2-0 over Aston Villa on Sunday.

Despite delay in Arsenal games the Gunners were able to get a narrow victory against a tough Leeds United side.

Manchester United created lots of chances but they were unable to find the back of the net against Newcastle United.

Liverpool struggled against Manchester City at Anfield but Mo Salah’s lone goal was able to carve the victory for them.

Meanwhile in La Liga Real Madrid got a comfortable victory over rival Barcelona in the El Clasico.


The NBA preseason has come to an end and the NBA will kick start in few days’ time.

Golden State Warriors suffered 112-119 defeat to Nuggets, while Kings got victory over Lakers.

Pelicans also got 120-111 victory over Hawks, Mavericks got 115- 101 victory over Jazz also in the preseason game.

Knicks and the Nets also got victory in the preseason to boost their confidence ahead of the NBA.


The girls took the center stage during the weekend boxing game.

Claressa Shields and Savannah Marshall renewed their rivalry in arguably the biggest women’s boxing match of all time in front of a sold-out O2 Arena in London with the undisputed middleweight championship of the world on the line.

Claressa Shields claimed the title of undisputed middleweight champion after ten brilliant rounds against home favourite Savannah Marshall on an historic night of women’s boxing in London.

The undercard topped by Alycia Baumgardner claiming a controversial split decision win over Mikaela Mayer to become the unified super-featherweight champion.

British Olympic stars Lauren Price, Caroline Dubois and Karriss Artingstall all claimed impressive wins.


The Yankees remain tie in the series (2-2) against the Guardian.

Padres got a 5-3 win against Dodgers to take the series to 3-1.

Astro 1-0 win over Mariners take their tie to 3-0 in series.

Phillies got a 9-1 win over Braves to take their tie to 3-1.


The Eagles got a 26-17 win over the cowboys, while Bills defeated Chiefs 24-20.

Rams and Seahawks both got their wining over their opponent during last week.

Vikings defeated Dolphins while Jet defeated the Packers.

Steelers also got 20-18 victory over Buccaneers, while Falcons defeated the 46ers.
