Ole Gunner Solskjaer said they have moved on from the past as he shift focus to tommorow’s derby.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer said they have moved on from the past and now focus on what’s next.

United will host local rival Manchester City in the Manchester derby tomorrow and the Norwegian seems focus on the game.

The last time Solskjaer stepped his foot at Old Trafford he stated it was the darkest day of his life after losing 5-0 to Liverpool.

“We’ve moved on from that one, of course it’s going to be in the history books, but we’ve had a good week with good results away from home in difficult games and the mindset is positive,” Solskjaer said.

“Of course, we have to go into this game believing we can do good things. It’s a local derby and everyone knows what’s at stake.”

After the 2-2 draw against Atalanta in the Champions League the team had a team meal which Solskjaer believes it improve the team bonding.

“The team is very close together and they know they need each other, it’s team bonding, and the team spirit is important.

We’ve got a great canteen up here as well, but they’re [the players] probably fed up of Mike’s [the chef’s] food!”

Manchester United defender Raphael Varane will miss the derby after sustaining injury in the Champions League.

Bailey might be in contention for a place in the starting 11 after an incredible display in the Champions League.

“With all the technology now, you expect him to be out four or five weeks with the scans and the pictures we’ve seen of him,” Solskjaer said.

“Of course, it’s a blow for us. Raphael has come in and been really, really influential, but Eric [Bailly] came in last time and was excellent, so that’s why you have big squads: so you can cope with absentees sometimes.”
