Tottenham to host Fulham after Aston Villa clash postponed
Tottenham and Aston Villa game as been postponed as Villa continue to battle with corona virus outbreak and Spurs will play Fulham instead on Wednesday.
Aston Villa were forced to close their training ground last week after a significant outbreak which saw 10 first-team players forced to self-isolate.
Dean Smith side were field their youth team in the 4-1 loss to Liverpool in the FA Cup third round, with the difficult situation with no sign of improvement the clash with the Spurs has been cancelled.
The Premier League has stated that Spurs will instead play Fulham at the Tottenham Hotspurs stadium at the same time on Wednesday that the match was called off on December 30.
The re-arrangement of the of the game will now re-schedule Fulham’s match against Chelsea from Friday 5:30pm to Saturday, while Villa’s clash against Everton will be moved from Saturday to Sunday.
Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho had earlier challenged the Premier League to “show leadership” and not punish Tottenham with further postponements over coronavirus concerns.
Mourinho also said it would be “completely impossible” for another one of Spurs’ league games to be cancelled and said teams should be ready to play with the minimum 14 players.
