Tuchel admits squad is suffering from fatigue
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel admits that they struggle to have the very best result as his side is suffering from fatigue due to lack of large squad.
The Blues will host Liverpool tomorrow in the Premier League and the German will need to get his side prepared for the Reds.
While speaking ahead of the game against Jurgen Klopp side, Chelsea manager said: “Normally we do this and I will be in this mode when matchday comes but today we need to assess a little but because the run where we come from, we come from the circumstances and the situations which are how they are, so we struggle to have our best performances out there, we struggle to have the very best results.
“This is something to admit and that’s why the feeling is a bit different than after Leicester, Juventus and the Man United game where we felt whatever’s coming bring it to us and we will deal with it,” he added.
“So now things feel harder and more difficult and more complicated, it’s like this, it’s one of these days so we need to be well prepared, the situation around it and why we are in this difficult place will not change even if we win games, I said this weeks before.”
Tuchel further stated that pushing his small squad is catching up with them as players are suffering from fatigue.
“Even if we overcame it once with Academy players and with 14 players in the squad when we arrived in Wolverhampton and half of it was from injury, you can survive a match of course but at some point it catches you, how will it not happen, we have to be aware of it.
“We will push to the maximum to beat Liverpool,” Tuchel said. ‘The day after Liverpool no matter if we make it or not, the situation will catch us again because we are in this situation and that’s why we struggle and this will not go away by one win. But we will fight for the win of course.”
