Tuchel praise players confidence after Anfield win
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has praised the confidence his players are showing in recent games and also credited the defence as they kept another clean sheet against defending champions Liverpool.
Chelsea beat the Reds at Anfield last night as the Blues remain unbeaten in all competition under new manager Thomas Tuchel.
Speaking to the media Tuchel said: “Andreas stepped in during the middle of the first half versus Tottenham which was a tough thing to do, and from the first minute he is absolutely impressive,”
Andreas Christensen as been impressive at the heart of Chelsea’s defence and he has help in keeping clean sheets in th absence of Thiago Silva through injury.
“He is brave, strong in individual challenges and very brave and intelligent in our build-up. He plays with a lot of confidence and I am absolutely happy with his performance. How he has stepped up is a big part of our performances.”
Tuchel further stated how happy he his for the consistency as he credited his players for doing a good job.
“I am happy for every win we get and every result as I know how hard it is to keep on winning and defending and keeping clean sheets. I know what it takes and I know the team’s input at the moment is at high level and for that I am super happy.
“I am very honest and I still have a big regret about the draw in Southampton when I was not happy how we dropped two points, but in general I am absolutely happy. From the first day I felt part of the club and involved in the team.
“They are a pleasure to coach from the first minute because you can feel energy and feel the attitude, and all things needed for a football game. They are ready to play as team and fight for each other. We have a brave squad and they show up in difficult games and show up every four days.”
