Police extends Mason Greenwood bail
Mason Greenwood has bail has been extended as investigation on suspicion of raoe, assault and threat to kill continues.
The Greater Manchester Police have extended the bail of Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood as it was confirmed that investigation is still going on.
Greenwood was arrested and charged for suspicion of rape, assault and also threat to kill after pictures and videos of a lady he allegedly assaulted appeared online.
Since the issue happened the Manchester United graduate has been suspended by the club and not training with the club.
A statement issued by Greater Manchester Police today said: “We are continuing to investigate a report made to us on Sunday 30 January of online social media images and videos posted by a woman reporting incidents of physical violence. A 20-year-old man arrested that day on suspicion of the rape and assault of a woman, and threats to kill, remains on bail.
“An application has been made to the courts to have his bail extended beyond Saturday 30 April, but the hearing isn’t expected to be until mid-June. The suspect will remain on conditional bail until the date of the court hearing.”
Greenwood is yet to make a single appearance for the club since the incident and his sponsorship from brand has been terminated.
