Pochettino Displeased with Missed Chances
Mauricio Pochettino praised his team’s performance against Nottingham Forest but lamented missed chances and a costly error that led to a loss.
Mauricio Pochettino expressed his satisfaction with many aspects of his team’s performance against Nottingham Forest.
However, he couldn’t hide his disappointment due to missed opportunities in front of the goal and a crucial error in midfield that ultimately led to the visitors’ goal.
The Blues maintained control of possession throughout the Premier League match but failed to convert their chances into goals, resulting in a 1-0 defeat.
In his post-game media remarks, Pochettino acknowledged his disappointment with the final scoreline and emphasized the need for greater efficiency in both attack and defense to secure the points that their performances truly merit.
“Today we created chances, we dominated the game but in the end we were not clinical enough in the last third,’ he said. “We should have scored and we need to if we want to win, then we made one mistake and we conceded a goal.
“I am disappointed but not frustrated, because in this type of process obviously you need some luck in some situations. I don’t want to take credit away from Nottingham Forest because they knew how they should play.
“But we were not clinical in both halves. We made a mistake and we conceded and then you create many opportunities and we dominate, but it wasn’t perfect. We didn’t score and when you don’t score it is difficult to win games.
“The opening was positive, in the way that in the first 45 minutes we didn’t concede any chances, apart from one corner and one free-kick. And after they didn’t create too many things. But we need to be more clinical and more efficient to score goals and to win the game”
