Mike Tyson Set for Boxing Comeback Against Jake Paul in November
Mike Tyson will return to the boxing ring on November 15 to face YouTuber-turned-fighter Jake Paul in a highly anticipated match at AT&T Stadium.
In a surprising return to the ring, former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, 58, will face off against YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul on November 15, marking his first professional fight in nearly two decades.
The bout will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and will be streamed live on Netflix. This fight has generated considerable buzz, given the stark contrast between Tyson, a boxing legend with a 50-6 record and 44 knockouts, and Paul, who has rapidly gained attention in the sport with a 10-1 record.
Despite his long hiatus from competitive boxing, Tyson remains confident that the fight won’t go the distance. Known for his devastating power in the ring, Tyson aims for a swift knockout, provided Paul doesn’t attempt to evade his strikes.
“If I don’t have to catch him, you can expect a Round 1 knockout,” Tyson said at a news conference to announce his collaboration with LF*GO! energy pouches. “But I may have to catch him because I anticipate this guy running from me.”
This marks Tyson’s first bout since his 2005 retirement following losses to Danny Williams and Kevin McBride.
Reflecting on his current mindset, Tyson emphasized how much has changed in his personal life. Unlike the chaotic period during his reign as a champion, Tyson feels more relaxed and settled heading into this fight.
He expressed his excitement not just for the competition, but also for the spectacle of performing in front of a large crowd at a football stadium.
“When I was fighting professionally, I was too stressed out,” Tyson said. “I never had a chance to relax or enjoy my championships because everything was coming at me. There were lawsuits and divorces. I never enjoyed myself as a human being. This is a moment in time when I can enjoy myself as a human being. I have better life skills now than I did while fighting.”
With a significant age gap of 31 years between the two fighters, the event promises to capture the attention of both boxing enthusiasts and a wider audience, as Tyson’s return brings both nostalgia and unpredictability to the sport.
