Emmanuel Adebayor anticipates a resurgence from Manchester City when Kevin De Bruyne regains full fitness and rekindles his partnership with Erling Haaland.

Haaland, who recently ended a goal drought in the Champions League by netting twice in a 3-0 victory over Young Boys, had struggled to find the net in the competition for five previous games.

He’s scored a total of 11 goals in all competitions this season, including nine in nine Premier League appearances.

However, his prolific form from last season has been absent since De Bruyne sustained an injury in the season opener against Burnley.

De Bruyne is not expected to return until the end of the year. Nevertheless, former City striker Adebayor believes that Pep Guardiola’s team will undergo a transformation once the midfield maestro is back in action.

Asked about Haaland, he told talkSPORT Breakfast: “Right now he is on top of his game. The beginning of the season was a little bit hard for him, but now everybody is talking about him.

“Everybody knows him and what he can do, what he can bring into the team as the main striker, and now they’re trying to play with two strikers.

“So it’s good for him to score, it’s good for his confidence. We all know Haaland will get between 30 and 50 goals a season, easily.

“We all know how good a player Devin De Bruyne is and with Haaland they have a good understanding, they play good football together because we know Haaland always finds a way to go behind and for those killer passes the best in the world is Kevin.

“Without him Haaland has been struggling a little bit, but if he’s now scoring without Kevin, imagine when Kevin comes back, they will be so strong.

“I can guarantee without a doubt we will see Man City beating teams 3-0, 4-0, 5-0, 6-0 easily.”
