Many have asked the question if the Red devils are title contender, the question popped up recently when the Reds beat Leeds United 6-2 in a dramatic win at Old Trafford moving them to third and five point behind the Premier League defending Champion and current League leader Liverpool with in game at hand.

The statement of being a league contender was made after Ole was made the interim manager after the Special one was sacked by the management; he then led the team to several games unbeaten in the Premier League including a record come back again Paris Saint Garman in the Champions League.

Ole Gunner Solskjaer side dropped form after he signed a 3-year contract which saw him loose matches in the beginning on the 2018-19 campaign, where many fans called for him to be sack just few months of him being charge of the Reds.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunner Solskjaer brought in Bruno Fernandes and Nigerian Striker Odion Ighalo in the January transfer window to bolster his attack which worked for him taking them back from 6th position to 3rd position with an incredible winning run in the League towards the end last season.

Many fans claim they will challenge Liverpool for the title this season with the addition of Edinson Cavani, Alex Telles and Van de Beek to the squad but just for them to be beaten in the opening match against Crystal Palace and also losing 6-1 to former managers side in the League.

The Ole out hash tag began to fly on all social media putting much pressure on the club since then the teams form was not stable as they continue to drop point and also crashed out of the prestigious league (Champions League) after they suffered defeat against German club RB Leipzig.

Manchester United have then picking up form little by little as they became come back kings, coming back to win matches against Everton, Southampton, Sheffield United and also trashing Leeds United in the Premier League recently which have generated talk about being a title contender as the league still remain wide open.

Manchester United Legend Roy Keane who has criticized the team a lot of times said Ole’s team should be able to push Liverpool and stay on top if they continue with their form and also put their home form in order.

“Maybe this group of players can do that. They’ve won their last few games and that’s all you can do.

“I’m intrigued when people say they’re not worried about the league table, well you should be because that’s what the game is about.

“You try to get points, you want to look. People say, ‘you don’t look until the end of the season’. No.

“United are in a great position considering how slow they were out of the blocks.

“Can you imagine if they sort their home record out? Their away form is brilliant. We’ve talked about United on the counter-attack, outstanding.

“If they can get their house in order at home then there’s no reason why United can’t certainly stay up there.

“I still think Liverpool are the best out there, but United should be fancying their chances in terms of pushing Liverpool.”

On the other hand, Gary Neville said he still doesn’t think Manchester United can contend for the League after he watch them recently.

“You just watch them and think there isn’t a team emerging there who can challenge for the title. My gut feeling is to still say I don’t think Manchester United are going to win the league.”

Whether Manchester United are League contenders or not Ole needs to get his tactics and player selection right before they can push Liverpool out of the first position or else, they will keep on struggling and fight for top four again.
