Arteta: City clash won’t define Arsenal’s season

Arteta has insisted tomorrow’s clash with Man City will NOT define Arsenal’s season.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has stated that his side will do everything at Etihad to get the required result.

The Gunners go into the showdown five points clear of City, but having played two more games than Pep Guardiola’s side.

Arsenal have already lost twice to City this season, in the league and FA Cup, and a third defeat would give the defending champions the upper hand in the title race.

But Arteta said at his press conference this morning: “100 per cent we knew from the beginning that City was the team to beat with Liverpool because of what those teams have done.

“We wanted to close that gap as much as we could and we’re toe-to-toe with them.

“We knew we had to go to the Etihad. We know it’s going to be really important. Is it going to define the season? The answer is no.

“The biggest game is the next one. The biggest game of my career would have been Southampton. We have to live the day. That is going to change every week.”
