Augustine Eguavoen says his side were unable to convert their chances and that led to their draw against Ghana, as Ghana coach Otto Addo blames fatigue.

The Nigeria Super Eagles coach Augustine Eguavoen has stated that his side were unable to utilize their chance against Ghana which led to their draw.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria were poor against Ghana in the first leg of the World Cup qualifier in the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

The Ghanian team dominated the game but the Eagles also got few chances that should have been converted.

The manager while speaking with reporters after the game said that the team’s missed chance caused them to draw in Ghana.

“We had two clear chances to just finish Ghana, but I think getting a draw is good even though we wanted to win here (in Ghana),” Eguavoen told reporters after the game.

Meanwhile Ghana coach Otto Addo blames fatigue for the being unable to break the Super Eagles team down on their home ground.

He claims they performed very well in the match but said they made some mistakes which gave confidence to Nigeria.

“First of all, we did well even though we made some mistakes but we started well, there was just a little bit of fatigue and it made Nigeria come into the game more.”

It is still all to play for as both teams will battle it out in the second leg on Tuesday inside the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
