Pep Guardiola claims his side will concentrate on their Champions League match as he insists they will have to handle the Premier League pressure very well.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has stated that they need to concentrate on the Champions League.

The League leaders returned to the top of the table after their 2-0 victory over Burnley in the Premier League.

Speaking after the game Guardiola insists that they need to feel the pressure and handle it very well or else they will not be the Champion.

After their Champions League match against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday City will have five days to prepare for Liverpool’s game which might determine the Champions of the Premier League.

“We have to feel the pressure that every game we play we can’t lose. If we lose we can’t win,” said Pep.

“We have to feel the pressure. We have to concentrate on Champions League, then have five days to prepare for Liverpool.

“Feel the pressure, live it and handle it or else we won’t be champions.”

Liverpool went to the top of the table after their early kick off victory but Guardiola claims the result didn’t change their approach to their game against Burnley.

“To be honest, we don’t speak much about being contenders to be champions this season,” he said.

“We travelled one hour on our coach to do our job. We were lucky to score within 10 minutes, but the grass was so high.

“We controlled and didn’t concede much free-kicks or corners or these type of situations where Burnley are a top class team.

“We had two or three chances to score and kill the game and get more for our goal difference against Liverpool, but after an international break it always uncertain how the players will come back.

“Now it is the Champions League and prepare for Atletico Madrid.”
