Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp have condemned the red card given to Chelsea’s defender in the 1-1 draw at Anfield.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp have condemned the red card given to Chelsea defender James in 1-1 draw.
Liverpool got a spot kick when James fouled in the 18-yard box but believe the punishment after the penalty isn’t worth it.
Klopp stated in his press conference that he has never liked the rules changed but no one will ever listen to his complains.
“I never liked that punishment”, Jurgen Klopp stated in his press conference after the game against Chelsea.
“If somebody ever listened to me about rule changes or rules then a lot of things would look completely different.
“They still look like they look so it’s really a waste of time to talk about it! Yes, it was absolutely harsh. Spoiled the game? Yes, probably. It changed everything.
The German insisted that he enjoyed the first half of the game as they created a lot of problem for Chelsea.
“I liked our first half, we were really good, we caused Chelsea real problems”, Klopp added.
“We caused them problems in the second half as well, but it was an incredibly intense game from Chelsea.
He also praised Chelsea for the point they earned as he believes that they did a very good job on the pitch.
“They did well and that’s why they deserved a point, obviously, but I would have loved to have seen the game in an 11 v 11 situation to take a look who comes through better.”
